Kiwanis Club of Calgary

The Kiwanis Club of Calgary was founded in 1919 and is a chartered club of Kiwanis International. Kiwanis is an organization devoted to the principle of service: to the advancement of individual, community, and national welfare; and to the strengthening of international goodwill. Kiwanis membership spans the globe, with more than 300,000 members in more than 8,000 clubs in 82 countries, giving $70 million and 7 million hours for community service each year.

The Objectives of Kiwanis International:

  • To give primacy to the human and spiritual rather than to the material values of life

  • To encourage living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships

  • To promote the adoption and the application of higher social, business, and professional standards

  • To develop, by precept and example, a more intelligent, aggressive, and serviceable citizenship

  • To provide, through Kiwanis Clubs, a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render to altruistic service, and to build better communities

  • To cooperate in creating and maintaining the sound public opinion and high idealism which make possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism and goodwill

The Kiwanis Club of Calgary is an active service club. Our major service project is Kamp Kiwanis. Our club meets once a month for a general meeting. The Board of Directors also meet once a month.

Calgary Kiwanis Clubs

The Kiwanis Club of Calgary (Downtown) is heavily involved with Kamp Kiwanis, but there are several other Kiwanis Clubs in and around Calgary. All of the clubs around Calgary are supporters of Kamp Kiwanis, but they each have their own major service projects that benefit the children in the Calgary area.
